Charlotte (Pineville) / 1.25 mile wood oval (10/25/24 - 9/19/27) / turns were banked 40 degrees / built by Jack Prince / Earl Antersberg was killed in an exhibition run on 10/24/24 / Earl Cooper was inadvertently announced the winner of the first race, but when the tapes were rechecked the win was awarded to Tommy Milton / the surface had deteriorated by 1928 and the owners decided no to fix it
