TWO STATEMENTS CONFLICT

R.A. Bennett Says He Didn't, Reporter Says He Did.

R.A. Bennett of Sioux City, who was quoted in Sunday's Register and Leader in regard to the possible causes of the fatalities at the Speedway Saturday, has asked that the following statement be printed:

"In your issue of this morning you state that I attribute the cause of Cooper's death to condition of the track. I have made no statement regarding what I think was the cause of the accident. I am handing this to Mr. Birney and am asking him to see that you correct the item."

J.H. Moore, member of the Register and Leader staff who interviewed Mr. Bennett, has the following statement to make:

"Mr. Bennett was not misquoted either in word or in substance. The conversation I had with him was reproduced without error or alteration in the Register and Leader."
