MORE GRIEF FOR SPEEDWAY

Suit for $22,500 Filed and Receiver Is Suggested.

M.J. Alexander Says Operators Paid No Rents on Land.

The death knell of the Valley Junction speedway, say those prominent in amusement circles, was sounded yesterday when the Des Moines company was made defendant to a $22,500 suit filed by M.J. Alexander.

Alexander, according to his petition, seeks to recover on a note given him by the race track organization and which fell due July 20, 1916.

He declares that the operators of the speedway failed to pay rent to the owners of the land or keep their property insured. That the property owned by the speedway company is insufficient to cover the amount of indebtedness is also asserted.

A mortgage was executed on the holdings of the concerns in December 1915. This, according to the plaintiff, was given him as security.

Alexander asks the court to render a judgment which can be construed as a lien against the property of the defendant company.

He also asks that the court appoint a receivership to operate the affairs of the company, if such a course of action becomes necessary.
