PLAN AUTO RACE FOR LOCAL TRACK

Will be Held at Speedway on June 16 - Ask Sanction of I.M.C.A.

Arrangements have been completed for holding what may be the first of several auto races in Des Moines this summer, at the speedway Saturday, June 16.

Application has been made for the sanction of the International Motor Contest association and this will undoubtedly be secured.

There will be a variety of races ranging from a ten mile event to one an hour long. Definite announcements of the events and the prizes will be made later.

Entry blanks have been sent to drivers all over the country and these will be coming in within a few days. Some of the best drivers in the United States are expected.

The meet is being promoted by J. Alex Sloan, who has been back of the auto races at the state fair here for a number of years, and Max Friedman of San Francisco, well known throughout the country.
