CALL OFF JUNE 16 RACES
Promoter Unable to Secure Use of Speedway.
Abandon All Plans for Holding Meet Here.
On account of litigation in which the Des Moines Speedway association is involved, Max Friedman and Alex Sloan have abandoned their proposed meet here on June 16.
According to Friedman he was unable to rent the speedway without guaranteeing several debts contracted by the speedway company last season, and they did not feel that they could afford to pay more than a nominal rental for the board track. Consequently no races will be held.
