SPEEDWAY DATE IS CHANGED
Announcement was made late Friday afternoon that the date of the Des Moines speedway race has been changed from Monday, June 26th to Saturday, June 24th. This action was agreed upon because it is believed Saturday will draw a bigger crowd than the later date. All the drivers entered have agreed and it was in fact partly at the instigation of Rickenbacher and Cooper that the speedway management undertook seriously the matter of having the date advanced.
Elimination trials will be staged at the Speedway next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. These trials will be free to those who hold tickets to the big races on Saturday. To others an admission of fifty cents will be charged.
