COST BARNEY $400 NOT TO RACE HERE
It cost Barney Oldfield $400 not to race in the Des Moines speedway events next Saturday, so a sports writer in the Chicago Tribune of yesterday declares. The speedway management accepted that amount, permitting him to fill an eastern engagement instead of participating in the Des Moines races. Tom Alley will drive Barney's car - an Ogren - here Saturday.
