WHO'S WHO ON SATURDAY'S BIG 300-MILE RACE
Ralph DePalma, most famous of the entrants; regarded as world's racing king; won 500-mile Indianapolis race; competed on both sides of the Atlantic; drives both Mercedes and Stutz; holds victories in most important of American contests. Will drive Stutz Saturday; favorite for Des Moines derby.
Eddie O'Donnell, Des Moines boy; took fifth in Indianapolis race and forced out of Chicago derby by mechanical trouble; got start as mechanic; worked up with Duesenberg team; won 300-mile race in Iowa and Nebraska; drives Duesenberg.
Tom Alley, holds 100 mile dirt record made at Minneapolis in 1 hour, 31 minutes, 30 seconds; started in Indianapolis as Cole tester; mechanic to Ralph DePalma in Indianapolis race in 1913; drove first race in Sioux City last year; finished eighth in Indianapolis race and seventh in Chicago derby; drives Ogren as Oldfield's representative.
Ralph Mulford, holder of world's record for 24-hour stock car race; one of the veteran drivers; won Vanderbilt race in 1911 and second in Indianapolis in 1911; drives Duesenberg Saturday.
Billy Chandler, one of the younger drivers entered in Saturday's race; rode with Mulford in 1910 in Atlanta races and American Grand Prix; participated in two Vanderbilt races; has worked frequently with Mulford as partner; drives Duesenberg.

Bruno Lombardi, native of the little republic of San Marino now at war as Italian ally; raced in Coopa Florio races; graduated from mechanic to pilot; drives O.C. Special.
A.F. Scott, holds endurance record made in 1910; some kingpin in race of cars with 450 cubic inches displacement.
Pete Henderson, 22 years old; native of Fernie, British Columbia; mechanic to Eddie O'Donnell for two seasons; drives Duesenberg team.
