COOPER IDOLIZED IN SEBRING, OHIO

Only a Boy, But He Designed and Built Own Car

Joe L. Cooper, instantly killed at the derby Saturday is more idolized in his own community in Sebring, Ohio, than any driver in the game. Wherever he drives he has a following of the home guard to root him several hundred strong. The reason for his popularity was that he was not only a splendid driver, but a boy with originality and purpose. He designed and built his own car. He was known among the racing fraternity as a courteous, affable, thoroly clean, high minded boy.
