"RICK" IS LATEST SPEEDWAY ENTRY

DRIVERS ALREADY ENTERED

Eddie Rickenbacker, Ralph Mulford, Eddie O'Donnell, Walter D'Alene, Pete Henderson, Bill Barndollar, Billy Chandler, Harold Milton.

Latest among the entrants for the big races at Des Moines speedway, June 26, is Eddie Rickenbacker. Secretary Orloff, of the speedway association, wired Thursday that the signature of the former Des Moines boy had been secured.

Ralph Mulford, winner of the 300-mile event last year; Eddie O'Donnell, who finished third, and Pete Henderson also have placed their "John Hancocks" to contracts. Orloff has conferred with Dario Resta, Ralph DePalma and Earl Cooper, and expects to have their signatures within a few days.

Mulford's controversy with Ralph DePalma over the awarding of first place in the 1915 race, may be settled here on June 26 if DePalma enters. DePalma was first given the race by checks, but later following Mulford's protest, a hearing was held and the protest allowed. A performance between the two drivers who have always been at the top of the ladder, would prove interesting.

Many improvements have been made at the track in order to insure the comfort of the spectators and the drivers. The roadways have been improved and a second subway for automobiles entering the inclosure of the track has been built.

Efforts are being made to obtain the services of Fred Wagner, official starter of the American Automobile assiciation, who has been officiating at the big races.
