Drivers Try to Break Records In Eliminations

Elimination trials on the Des Moines motor speedway Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon will preface Des Moines' second big auto derby set for Saturday afternoon.

The eliminations will be brightened by with attempts to lower present mile, two-mile, five-mile and ten-mile records by the most intrepid kings of racedom. Rickenbacker, Mulford, Cooper and DePalma are among those going after the marks some of which may be expected to fall.

The board bowl is in fine shape for the eliminations and the 150 and 50 mile races for the big day according to testimony from the drivers who have been unlimbering their cars there the past few days.
