AUTOMOBILE NOTABLES TO ATTEND BIG CITY RACES

NAME OFFICIALS FOR MOTOR MEET NEXT SATURDAY

Many Prominent Autoists to Invade City - Precautionary Measures Taken

A notable array of automobile men will be in Des Moines next Saturday to attend the first 300-mile automobile race ever held under the auspices of the Des Moines Automobile Speedway association.

Richard Kennerdell of New York, chairman of the contest board of the American Automobile association, and Fred A. Wagner of New York, official starter, will be present. G. Decker French of Davenport, good roads booster, will be the representative of the contest board on the track. Frank Gotch of Humboldt, wrestling champion, has been selected as assistant starter.

Ready for Emergencies.

Every precaution to prevent accidents and to maintain order at the track will be taken. Militia and deputies under the command of Captain C.C. Koone of the Iowa national guard will police the track. A squad of physicians will be in readiness to handle any emergency situation that may arise in case of an accident. Dr. C.W. Burt of Valley Junction has been designated as chief surgeon.
