THE HUNDRED MILE AUTO RACE

FRIDAY JULY 9, THE DATE

The new race track at the Tri-State fair grounds is completed and will be thrown open tomorrow for the inspection of visitors. Mr. Holcombe, the general manager of the fair assoication, has issued an invitation to all auto owners to bring their machines tomorrow and test out the track. The hundred-mile auto race will be run on this track on July 9 -- when Bob Burman and other world-famous speed kings will give Burlington and vicinity some new thrills and something new to talk about. The new track is one-half mile in circumference, is bult along scientific lines, and some new records are anticipated on the date of the race. The new grand stand is built solid as a rock and can take care of 10,000 spectators, giving each one an unobstructed view of the entire track. Indications are that it will be a big event and that the attendance will tax the capacity of the pavillion and grounds.
