CHANDLER WILL BE WELL IN FORTNIGHT
Both Louis Peio and W.W. Chandler, the auto racers injured at the Speedway Saturday afternoon, were reported at the hospitals this morning to be improving. Chandler, it was said, may be able to leave the hospital in a fortnight, although Peio's injuries are such that he may have to remain in Des Moines for six weeks or two months.
The latter's hurts this morning were described at the hospital to be three ribs broken on the left side, two on the right, skull slightly crushed and bruises about the back and hips. Chandler is badly bruised and shaken up, but no bones are broken and there are no signs of internal injury.
Mrs. Chandler arrived in Des Moines last night from her home in Chicago and spent the entire morning with her husband at Mercy hospital.
